Help Center | UISP Guide

Please Note: Although you can see the menu on the right, clicking anywhere outside the helpfiles (for security) will result in your browser being directed elsewhere. Once you activate a workspace, the system will detect your signup IP and white list the login page and all other pages.

If you want to talk to someone directly from Efkolos.com (makers of this Texting App) please click the "Join Us On Discord" blue button there to get in. =)

Below you'll fine a list of other pages beyond the basic F.A.Q.'s listed on this page. Addtionally, the Provider's and CRM systems that Texting App is compatiable with are listed under the Provider Guides and CRM Setup guides columns, although I don't quite have those guides complete yet, I'm working on them.

UISP Considerations

At this time we have only tested everything with the stand alone version of UISP. We hope to have verifcation and tests completed to work with the UISP Cloud versions by Build 2.0.

At a minimum you need UISP version 2.4.0. We have fully tested and certified UISP version 2.4.61 as well to make sure it works well and produces no errors.

Steps for UISP Setup

  1. Go into the CRM side of the app and create a new CRM permissions group under the Security Page on the CRM side. Click the permissions group box up top and then do;
    a) Select a permissions group name
    b) Set your Scope to "Orginization"
    c) Select your orgniazation
    d) Select the following permissions: By default, start with everything on denied. Then select edit on "Client, My tickets, All tickets" and then under Special Permissions select allow.

  2. Create a new email box for use specifically with this intergration thru the same server you setup UISP ticketing. If you do not use UISP ticketing, creating a dedicated email box for this is HIGHLY recommended.

  3. Set the new username bearing in mind exactly what you select is what will show in the UISP logs.

  4. Create a new UISP user for the Texting App to use when accessing the API. and make sure that the Network Role is set to Admin and DO NOT select super admin. Set your CRM Permission Group to the one you created. The Default UI isn't going to matter because we're going to be using the API link to login.

  5. Since the users are "invited" you'll have to click the invite button. Once you do it will bring you to the UISP portal and ask you to select a password. Make sure its secure and not simple, you don't want anyone actually logging into this user once its created. After you set your password it will automatically log you in. Then move on to the next step.

  6. Once your logged in, go to the network side, click on the gear cog for settings, then select users. Under the API tokens section, click the "Create new API token" button and give it a name with no spaces, we recommend just plugging in "textingapp' here and make sure the Role is set to "Admin. and click save.

  7. After you click save it will displacy your API token you'll need for the steps below under "Steps for Texting App UISP Setup". We highly recommend either writing this down or storing it in a text file as once you close the window the UISP portal won't ever show you the key again, you'll have to delete the old one and make a new one if you forget it.
